Dear Brownsburg,

What keeps us youthful? Some among us are experienced in youthful leisure pursuits, and sure, we all have our own individual motivations for our choice of recreational opportunities.  John Muir wrote of many reasons for needing leisure pursuits: first, because he believed that recreation rejuvenated the human spirit, and another, because he was convinced that it was his responsibility to enrich the country through writing about beautiful areas where people could play at their leisure.

The Brownsburg Parks and Recreation Department exists for your leisure pursuits.  In April 2010, surveys were mailed to a random sample of 1,600 households throughout the Brownsburg area. The goal was to obtain a total of at least 315 completed surveys. This goal was far exceeded, with a total of 453 surveys having been completed. The results of the random sample of 453 households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least +/-4.6%. Please click on this link to see the results of the community survey.

The intention of the surveys is to incorporate the results into a strategic business plan and chart a course for the Department over the next five to ten years.  We appreciate that the community feels so strongly about having beautiful areas locally to play and rejuvenate.  We thank you for taking an active role in shaping the future of your park system and for choosing the Brownsburg Parks and Recreation Department for your leisure pursuits.
