Town Council Votes in Favor of Brownsburg North Annexation back
Date of Record: July 12, 2013

In a move to manage the Town of Brownsburg's future growth and promote economic development, Brownsburg Town Council voted 3-2 in favor of the Brownsburg North Annexation at its July 11meeting.

The annexation territory comprised of nearly 4,500 acres on the municipality's northern limits will nearly double the size of the town. The annexation will increase the Town's population by 3,000 residents and add approximately $273 million in assessed value.

Brownsburg Town Manager Grant Kleinhenz said, "Brownsburg is a place where companies want to locate and people want to live. We have to stay ahead of suburban sprawl and ensure that our roads and utilities can support future development. The annexation allows the community to continue growing, but with deliberate planning and zoning to make sure developments are in the best interests of its residents, reflect the character of Brownsburg, and enhance our quality of life."

Town Council also voted 3-2 in favor of the Ward Annexation, an area of just over 400 acres including the Wynne Farms subdivision.

The Town of Brownsburg's website, offers details about annexation, including maps of the annexation areas, financial impact scenarios, and answers to frequently asked questions. The fiscal plans are available on the website or in the Town Manager's office at Town Hall, 61 N. Green Street. ANNEXATION WEB PAGE>>
