CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR – CIVILIAN 

Brownsburg Police Department is seeking a full-time Crime Scene Investigator. This position is responsible for the collection, preservation, investigation and documentation of forensic evidence from crime scenes and fatal accidents. The CSI will also be responsible for the processing, maintenance and chain of custody of stored evidence for the entire department, among other relevant responsibilities. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a hard science such as Forensic Science or Biology, equivalent field experience, crime scene investigation certifications, certified Law Enforcement experience, and/or a combination thereof. Candidates should also be articulate, able to be on-call, able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, detail-oriented and able to perform under stressful conditions. First year probationary salary commensurate with skills and qualifications but within range of $52,000 to $65,500.
