Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain Wawa Inc. announced its plans to expand into Indiana by opening 60 new stores. One of the new stores will be located at the intersection of SR 267/N. Green St. and Garner Rd./CR. 700 N. in Brownsburg. The company plans to invest approximately $7 million to open each new convenience store in Central Indiana, with the Brownsburg store alone expected to create about 35 job opportunities.
Currently, Wawa has 15 stores under contract in Central Indiana, including one each in Brownsburg and Plainfield. The exact timelines for constructing the new stores are still being determined as the company goes through the permitting and approvals process.
Wawa currently operates over 1,000 convenience retail stores in six states and Washington, DC.
