1. Where will the Brownsburg Aquatic Center be located?

The aquatic center's proposed location is at Lincolnwood Park. The Town of Brownsburg purchased this 51-acre property from the Tague family in June 2018. Located just west of the intersection of Green and Main Street, the expansive acreage has the potential for many community amenities.

2. What is the timeline for this project?

The aquatic center project is currently collecting public input, including reviewing the last 10 years of statistically valid data. 

3. Why does Brownsburg need an aquatic center?

Public input regarding the aquatic center has been collected over the years, most recently through the Brownsburg Parks Strategic Master Planning process. In 2017, a statistically valid community needs survey found that Brownsburg residents desire an outdoor swimming pool as their second most sought-after amenity.

4. Who is developing the aquatic center design and business plan?

The Town of Brownsburg has contracted with Williams Architects, a design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm, to oversee the design and business plan of an aquatic center. The consultant has taken into consideration all the feedback received to create the initial design of the facility.

5. Does the site meet all municipal, state, and federal requirements, e.g. flood plain?

This project is not being built in the flood plain. A site plan has been completed for this park.  

6. There are several community pools nearby. Why does Brownsburg need its own pool?

The results of a statistically valid community needs assessment indicate that Brownsburg residents want a facility built in their town. By constructing our own indoor and outdoor aquatic center facility, we can keep the dollars spent by residents local, as they can shop and dine nearby. Furthermore, Brownsburg could potentially attract individuals from neighboring communities, such as Pittsboro, Clermont, Speedway, and the west side of Indianapolis, who do not have a facility nearby.
