About the Town Manager
Jeffery A. Eder, Town Manager
Jeffery A. Eder was appointed in June 2019. He brings 18 years of experience in municipal management to Brownsburg including working as City Administrator for the City of East Peoria, Illinois, four years as the Assistant City Manager and Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Rock Island and 12 years with the Village of Franklin Park ending as the Director of Community Development.
Duties
The Town of Brownsburg operates under a Town Council - Manager form of government. The Town Manager is hired by the Town Council to manage the daily affairs and operations of the town and serve as the Chief Executive Officer. The Town Manager ensures that town services are performed in accordance with Town Council policies and within the capability of the Town's resources.
The Town Manager oversees several departments within the Town of Brownsburg, which all work to keep the town running smoothly and help carry out the policies of the Town Council.
About the Assistant Town Manager

Alan Geans was appointed in January 2020. Geans has more than 10 years of leadership experience specifically in local government and nonprofit operations management. Most recently, Geans served as the Municipal Manager for the Villages of Woodlawn in Cincinnati after four years as its Director of Parks and Recreation. As CEO of Geans Management Group, he provided business consulting services and helped organizations with strategic planning and fundraising. Previously, he spent 13 years in executive positions with the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Duties
The Assistant Town Manager ensures the town operates in the most efficient and effective way possible and is tasked with finding operational efficiencies and managing the town's budget process. The Assistant Town Manager is dedicated to the well-being and safety of the town employees so they are able to deliver excellent service to the residents of the Town of Brownsburg.
