The Town of Brownsburg has hired an economic development director to help market the community as an ideal location for businesses with the goal of further diversifying our tax base and bringing more employment, retail and dining options to our community. Gregory J. Anderson, AICP, MBA has been on the job since Monday, May 19, 2014.

Anderson joins the Town administration after serving as the community and economic development coordinator for the Village of Machesney Park, Illinois. He helped plan a retail marketing campaign, prepared redevelopment agreements and incentive packages, and helped the village expand its new job base by more than 300 percent over the next five years.

Anderson directed economic development for the City of Westfield, Indiana, from 2007 to 2009. He has a broad background in economic development, with previous service in land acquisition, planning and real estate.

“After an extensive search, I am pleased that we have found someone with Greg's experience to fill the key position of Economic Development Director,” Brownsburg Town Manager Grant KIeinhenz said.  “This is a new position for the Town and will work closely with the Hendricks County Partnership to increase business development as well as attraction of new investment for the Town.”

Anderson earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and has a B.A. in urban design from Southern Illinois University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association. He was recognized as the Will-Grundy (Ill.) Counties HBA Builder of the Year in 2002.
