Future Properties

The Town of Brownsburg is continuously evaluating and investing in green space in an effort to continue to make the community the best place to live in Central Indiana.

Virgil Park

CR 300 N and CR 900 E

About This Location

Virgil Park is a 6.67 acre parcel of land located in the southeast portion of Brownsburg south of CR 300N and just east of CR 900E. The Park Board approved the park's name in October 2019 to honor Hall and Diana Virgil, Brownsburg residents who dedicated more than 20 years to transforming an abandoned railroad line into the B&O Trail.

In 2020, construction will begin to develop the property resulting in approximately 25 parking spaces for B&O Trail users, a year-round restroom, a small playground and a shelter.

The majority of the property will feature natural elements that maintain the integrity of the wetlands already on the site. The wetlands, consisting of prairie grasses and flowers, will serve the property by helping with stormwater control as well as creating a habitat for certain plants and animal species.

Target Completion: Spring 2020

Trailhead Property

315 W. Main St. Property

The Town of Brownsburg purchased this 51-acre property from the Tague family in June 2018. Located just west of the intersection of Green and Main Street, the expansive acreage has the potential to house multi-use fields along with a wetlands area.

The former family home also could potentially serve as a nature center. The community will assist in future design of the park.
