 Cardinal Park

Welcome to Cardinal Park!

This property was acquired through a trade of properties with the Brownsburg Community School Corporation.

While Parks had hoped to begin construction in Fall 2017, when we solicited bids in the summer only only one was received one and it was 40% over budget. Parks is currently reviewing the materials in the bid to stay within budget before rebidding the work. The goal is to have the first phase of the park up and running in 2018.

The first phase of the project will include: extending Thornburg Parkway to Hornaday Road, installing infrastructure for storm water drainage, creating a parking lot, and extending the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Trail from the B&O Trail to Airport Road. Ultimately, the RTP Trail will link to Bulldog Way, providing connectivity from US 136 to the B&O Trail.

When complete, the 14-acre Cardinal property will include a dog park, a playground or water amenity, and will serve as a trailhead to link the neighborhood to both the B&O Trail and the RTP Trail.
